How to remove Write Protection for your pen drive or other mass storage

We have often seen the write protection message in Pen Drive or external hard disk while we try to copy, move anything or try to format it. Specially if you have company's laptop, you will find such security as a part of the Corporate Security. You are reading this post it means you have also faced this problem and want to find a proper solution. Well, it's very simple. Let's do it:
  • Click on Start -> Run, enter "regedit" and press enter. It will open the registry editor.
  • Now go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Currentcontrolset\control\storatedevicepolicies"At the right side, you will find DWORD Key naming "WriteProtect" with value "0x00000001 (1)".
  • Double Click on "WriteProtect" and change the value from "1" to "0" and click on OK.
  • You are done! Close the registry editor and reinsert your Pen Drive or reboot your system if required.
